INTOLERANCE AND FRATRICIDAL DEBATES

Dear Friends,
Can our memories be so short that a person of a stature of Aamir Khan, who we had been admiring and adoring until yesterday has become so vicious, unwanted and hated person today that we like to denounce him even, charge him as anti-national. There is no end to such unceremonious abuses. Look closely! Don’t you feel such kind of treatment and enormous amount of mails on Social Sites are equally ‘Intolerant’? Before changing your opinions so drastically shall it not be wise to investigate the causes that may have compelled him to such utterances? There surely must be some issues riding high on him. This is not a solitary eruption by him. Many others have expressed their despondency and frustrations in different ways.

To retain brotherhood and tranquility in the country it is essential on part of the leadership to hear their grievances, if there be any, and resolve the same amicably before the situation turns more sordid and there are more dirty washes. Remember, together we can conquer all hurdles, divided we may fall. It must be our endeavour to shun all kinds of fratricidal and demeaning acts.

86% (eighty six) of our people are illiterates or semi literates, famished or impoverished and backward and contribute only little in the making of the nation. If we start accusing and denouncing the other 14% also then what shall be left of India? And how shall we face the insurmountable challenges before the nation? Let’s not be so shortsighted and self contained that we overlook the consequences of what is happening in our country and which the world is watching   with concern.

Let’s be clear, the present issue of intolerance is peculiar of its kind and has germinated only in the last one year or so. To refer to Emergency and riots of 1984 are irrelevant in the present scenario. Let us not confuse the issue if we want to defuse it amicably. Surely ours is the most lovable country since time immemorial and the present controversy is of last one year or so! To reach the truth we must stick to the events that have occurred in the recent time rather than searching skeletons and complicate the issue.

With regards.
In the making of the nation,
